Wineries, Halloween, Etc.

Look at these happy people!
Holiday craziness and traveling gave me plenty of other things to do and  I neglected my blog, but I need to finish the adventure with the Barndollar's, so here is a bit of a condensed version of the end of Eric's parents visit in November.

After the trip to Big Sur, we visited Savannah Chanelle Winery in Saratoga on Halloween. This was my first California winery visit and wine tasting, and David and Adele educated me on wine tasting and the different types of wine. It was a small winery but it had a beautifully landscaped villa with great views of the mountains, rows and rows of different types of grapes, and paths behind the winery to a forest of redwoods.

Gorgeous roses blooming in November.

My favorite part about this winery were the wine related quotes and poems painted on the walls in the bathrooms--Eric had to make me leave, but I thought it was such an inspiring decorative idea and distracted the English major in me.

After visiting the winery we went to Molly Maggee's pub on Castro Street to watch the Steelers/Patriots game and have a couple of beers. We were disappointed by the loss, but it was also exciting to watch the Giants World Series game at the same time!

Before David and Adele left for their Sonoma/Tahoe adventure, we celebrated Halloween at our apartment. This was our first Halloween at the apartment, and after the big game we dressed Mia up in her first costume and carved our first pumpkin together! Turns out that Mia really likes fresh pumpkin.

Happy Halloween and GO STEELERS!
